The Three Production Lines

What Each Line Does — and What It Means for Your Order

Equipment specs matter less than what they enable. For each line, we explain the capability and the direct implication for buyers.

Products from this line PPGI Coil PPGL Coil PCM Sandwich Panel Skin
  • All four coating systems on one line — PE, SMP, HDP, and PVDF. No separate line changeover fee. You are not locked into a minimum per coating type beyond the standard 5T MOQ.
  • Automated ΔE and DFT monitoring — colour difference and dry film thickness measured continuously during production, not just spot-checked. Batch consistency ΔE ≤ 1.0 guaranteed.
  • 2/1 coat pass available for sandwich panel skins — the correct specification for PU foam adhesion. Not all coating lines offer this; specify at order placement.
  • Back coat specified separately — epoxy-grade back coat for sandwich panel skins; standard polyester for all other uses. Must be declared at order stage.

Products from this line VCM Laminated Steel Cold Room Inner Liner Cleanroom Panel Skin Appliance Inner Liner
  • Food-grade PVC film (FDA 21 CFR / EU 10/2011 / GB 9685) — inner liner grade for cold room walls, wine cooler interiors, and food processing surfaces. "No-odour" formulation available; must be specified.
  • PVDF film for GMP B cleanrooms — VHP-resistant, Ra ≤ 0.5μm. Different from PVDF baked coating — confirm which is required for your application.
  • Custom print patterns — woodgrain, marble, brushed-metal decorative VCM for appliance faces. Allow 10–15 working days for colour development and trial approval before production starts.
  • EGI substrate recommended for thin decorative films — substrate surface texture can print through on films below 80μm. We flag this at spec confirmation; EGI adds a small premium.

Production Line 03
Precision Slitting Line

Master coil (up to 1,250mm) cut to your exact specified width. Runs on both colour coated and laminated master coils, adding just 2–3 days to completion.

Serves all coil products PPGI / PPGL Strips VCM Strips Sandwich Panel Width Any Custom Width
  • Non-standard widths at no premium — if your roll-forming or press tooling requires an exact width not available in standard master coil, slitting delivers it. Minimum 100mm, tolerance ±1mm.
  • Works on coated and laminated coil — slit after coating or after film lamination. Edge condition is clean and burr-free; no edge delamination on VCM if film extends to the slit edge.
  • Does not reset the production lead time — slitting is scheduled immediately after master coil completion. The 2–3 days is additive to coating or laminating, not a separate queue.
  • Multiple widths from one master coil — if your order needs two or three different widths of the same spec, we slit all in one pass. Batch colour is guaranteed identical across all widths.
Which Lines Does My Order Use?

Your Order's Path Through the Factory

Most orders use one or two lines. Understanding which lines your order goes through tells you exactly where the production time is spent — and what can be expedited.

Two things that affect line scheduling — tell us upfront

1. PVDF coating requires a longer oven temperature profile than PE/SMP/HDP. This doesn't add days to the lead time but does affect which production slot your order goes into. Confirm at order placement so we can schedule correctly.   2. Custom VCM print patterns need a colour development and approval cycle before production starts. The 10–15 working days for this runs in parallel with contract preparation — not after it — so inform us of the pattern requirement at enquiry stage, not at order confirmation.

Quality Control

What Gets Checked at Each Stage

Line output quality is controlled at three points — incoming substrate, in-process monitoring, and final OQC before dispatch. Here's what that means in practice for each line.

IQC
Before Line 01 starts: Base coil substrate is checked against its MTC — steel thickness, zinc/AZ coating weight, tensile strength, and yield point. A coil that doesn't match its MTC does not enter the line. This is the first gate that protects your downstream spec.
PQC
During Line 01 — every meter: Automated DFT (dry film thickness) and ΔE (colour difference vs. approved chip) measured continuously. Any reading outside tolerance triggers an automatic alarm. This is not manual spot-checking — it's continuous in-line measurement. Result: batch-to-batch colour variation ΔE ≤ 1.0 is a measurable output, not a claim.
PQC
During Line 02 — laminating line: Peel strength (film-to-steel bond, N/cm) tested on sample strips at line start and at regular intervals during the run. Film alignment and edge coverage checked visually. Any peel strength result below spec triggers a line stop and investigation before production continues.
OQC
Before dispatch — every batch: T-Bend, pencil hardness, MEK rub, cross-cut adhesion, gloss level (60°), and visual surface inspection. MTC issued per coil batch with all test results. For SGS third-party inspection, this stage is when the inspector is on-site — arrange a minimum 7 days before your planned dispatch date.
Line 03
After slitting: Strip width measured per coil against the order specification (tolerance ±1mm). Edge condition checked — no burr, no film delamination at slit edge. Coils that don't meet edge quality are re-slit or rejected before packing. Width MTC is issued alongside the main product MTC.
FAQ

Questions About Our Production Lines

Can you coat and laminate in the same order — for example, outer shell PPGI and inner liner VCM?
Yes. A single order can include both colour coated coil (from Line 01) and laminated steel (from Lines 01 + 02), shipped together. This is the standard configuration for cold room and cleanroom panel projects, where the exterior shell is PPGI/PPGL and the interior surface is VCM. Specify each component separately in your enquiry with the intended surface position — we will confirm the correct specification and production path for each.
What is the difference between 2/1 and 2/2 coat pass — and does it matter for my order?
2/2 (two-coat, two-bake) means primer and topcoat are each applied and fully oven-cured separately. This produces the hardest, most fully-cured surface — standard for profiled roofing and cladding. 2/1 (two-coat, one-bake) applies both coats before a single oven pass, leaving the back coat less fully cured and chemically more reactive — which is exactly what polyurethane foam needs to bond to for sandwich panel production. If your coil will be used as a sandwich panel skin with PU or PIR foam, specify 2/1 coat pass and epoxy-grade back coat. If it will be used as a roofing or cladding profile, 2/2 is the correct specification. If in doubt, tell us the end use and we will confirm which is correct.
Can I order the same specification at different widths and get matching colour across all widths?
Yes — and this is one of the most practical reasons to use the slitting line. If you need, for example, 900mm and 1,100mm widths of the same PPGI spec in the same colour, we produce a single master coil on Line 01 (ensuring identical colour batch), then slit to both widths on Line 03 in one pass. The colour batch is guaranteed identical across all strips from the same master coil. This is significantly more reliable than ordering two separate production runs at two widths.
Do you offer cut-to-length sheets, or only coils?
Currently our three lines produce coil output only — we do not operate a cut-to-length levelling line. If you require flat sheets, we recommend sourcing a local service centre to cut from coil, which also reduces freight cost versus shipping pre-cut sheets. We can advise on the correct coil specification for downstream CTL processing, including the appropriate coil OD and weight for standard decoiling equipment.
Can I visit the factory or request a video audit of the production lines?
Yes to both. Factory visits are welcome — please give at least 5 working days notice to arrange access and a production demonstration. Video audits via Teams or WhatsApp can typically be arranged within 3–5 working days. During an audit, we can demonstrate the in-line DFT and ΔE monitoring on the coating line, the peel strength testing procedure on the laminating line, and the slitting tolerance verification on Line 03.
