Prepainted metal is not one universal product. A refrigerator door, an outdoor roofing sheet, a security door skin and a whiteboard surface may all use coated steel, but they require different substrates, coatings, films, forming and approval methods.

Painted Appliance-Grade Metal
Pre-coated metal with a painted surface, commonly used for solid-color appliance panels and other controlled indoor applications.

Film-Laminated Decorative Metal

Prepainted Galvanized Steel
Painted metallic-coated steel used in roofing, cladding, panels and other building or exterior applications.

Functional Coated Steel
Surface systems designed for a specific function such as writing, projection, magnetic use, easy cleaning or other customer-defined performance.

Appliance material should be specified by panel position. A decorative door skin, a side housing and a rear or internal metal panel do not automatically use the same structure.
